WOMEN IN SCIENCE 2025

At Tehnopark Celje about the challenges of female scientists in Slovenia

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we organized a round table on the topic of women in science for the second year in a row at Tehnopark Celje. This year, the main topic was "Challenges of women scientists in Slovenia". The event highlighted the importance of gender equality in science and technology and encouraging young women to enter these professions.

The round table was attended by outstanding female scientists: Barbara Kramar from Celje, project engineer at Novartis and Amcham top potential 2023,
Brina Škoda from Celje, product design team leader at Loftware and nominee for Engineer of the Year 2024,
Eva Vidmar, master's degree multimedia engineer and programmer at Be-Terna,
Neža Đukić, graduate multimedia engineer and user interface expert,
Dr. Borka Jerman Blažič, pioneer of the Slovenian internet and expert in digital transformation.

The event highlighted that despite legislative support and gradual improvements, concrete measures are still needed to increase the share of women in science and technology, especially in leadership positions. Only by systematically monitoring data, promoting equal opportunities and creating an enabling environment will it be possible to realize the potential of women in scientific professions.

A sincere thank you to all participants for their important contribution to this discussion!
