On February 15, 2024, we gathered at Tehnopark Celje for an event dedicated to exceptional women and girls in science, in honor of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. On Platform 360, we had the opportunity to listen to inspiring female scientists who shared their experiences, challenges, and insights into the future of science. Together, we worked towards building a more equal scientific community for all. Although the careers of women in science are still marked by stereotypes and prejudices, we were convinced that there are strong voices that persistently overcome obstacles and pave the way for future generations.

We heard numerous perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that women face in scientific careers. We discussed cultural and social influences and how we can all work together for greater equality in the scientific world. The event was also attended by young girls and women who are building their careers in science, thus encouraging enthusiasm for STEAM fields among the next generations.

We were greeted by the spouse of the President of Slovenia, Dr. Aleš Musar, who emphasized the importance of the role of women in science and shared his personal experiences and belief in gender equality in scientific professions.
