Dr. Olga Markič
Dr. Olga Markič is a full professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, where she teaches in the fields of logic, argumentation theory, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of cognitive science. Additionally, she lectures in the interdisciplinary Master's program in Cognitive Science, contributing to the understanding of the complex connections between philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence.
Her research focuses on philosophical issues related to the mind, consciousness, and decision-making, examining the limits and implications of cognitive science. Her work also includes a critical analysis of social and ethical questions arising from advancements in science and technology, such as the impact of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and issues of personal autonomy and responsibility in the context of rapid technological change.
In 2021, she co-authored the book On Decision-Making and Personal Autonomy with Tomaj Strle, exploring the philosophical and practical aspects of decision-making, autonomy, and their roles in contemporary society. Her work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that combines philosophical methods with empirical insights from other disciplines.
As a recognized expert, she frequently participates in international conferences, publishes in esteemed scientific journals, and actively promotes philosophy and cognitive science to the broader public.
