In 2025, Prof. Dr. Robert Zorec was awarded the prestigious Miroslav Zei Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions in the field of activity of the National Institute of Biology (NIB). The award was presented at a ceremony held on February 12, 2025.

The Miroslav Zei Award is named after one of the founders of the NIB and is given in recognition of exceptional achievements in the field of biology.
