The Mentor of the Year title is an award presented by the Association of Young Researchers of Slovenia (DMRS). This recognition is given to mentors who have excelled in guiding young researchers and graduates, fostering their research work, and contributing to their academic and personal development. The prestigious Mentor of the Year 2023 title was awarded to Professor Dr. Roman Kuhar from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana. The finalists who also received awards were: Dr. Mojca Plesničar, Dr. Urban Sedlar, Dr. Matej Butala, and Dr. Damjan Vavpotič.
