The International Science Council (ISC) is a global organisation of science academies, associations and other organisations concerned with science and its impact on society. Its mission is to promote scientific progress and the application of knowledge to address global challenges such as climate change, social inequality and sustainable development.
The ISC Global Alliance of Scientists brings together more than 200 member organisations from around the world, including science academies, research councils and other international scientific networks.
Objectives: Supporting interdisciplinary research; Integrating different scientific disciplines to better understand complex problems; Applying science for the public good: Promoting research that directly contributes to solving societal and environmental challenges; Strengthening the role of science in policy-making; Ensuring that decisions at global and local levels are supported by scientific evidence.
