INTERNATIONAL DATA WEEK 2025 13-16 October 2025 in Brisbane/Meanjin, Australia
International Data Week 2025 is a global initiative taking place from 23 to 29 March 2025 to raise awareness of the importance of open data, its impact on research, innovation and society, and to promote good practices in data management and use. The event is organised annually under the umbrella of the International Data Week (IDW) initiative and includes a number of events around the world. The focus will be on using data to achieve the Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) and address global challenges such as climate change, health and social inequality.
Events and activities: Conferences and seminars on data governance, data discovery and ethical use; Workshops to improve data analysis, visualisation and management skills; Hackathons to develop data solutions in science, technology, society and business; Online events, lectures and discussions with international experts. Multi-stakeholder involvement: scientists, decision-makers, technology developers, companies, students and the general public take part in the week.
