The European Research Area (ERA) is a European Union initiative that aims to create a single, connected research area in Europe, promoting collaboration, knowledge exchange and researcher mobility. The main objectives of the ERA include: Strengthening research excellence; Mobility of researchers and knowledge; Gender equality and inclusion; Open science; Connecting research with the economy to foster innovation. The ERA is based on cooperation between EU Member States, research institutions and the private sector to strengthen Europe's innovation potential and support sustainable economic and social development.
