STEAM Education Platform - project Promoting STE(A)M studies for the careers of the future through quality activities and content for young people outside public universities
The project is Promoting STE(A)M studies for the careers of the future through quality activities and content for young people outside public universities, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.
The STEAM project is in practice an online platform (steampokliciprihodnosti.si) and is based on the findings of partner higher education institutions (Faculty of Polymer Technology from Slovenj Gradec, University of Nova Gorica, University of Novo mesto and Faculty of Environmental Protection from Celje) that the balanced coverage of peripheries and university centres that would motivate young people to enrol in STE(A)M fields is unequal (in-school curriculum and out-of-school activities). As a consequence, children and young people do not have equal opportunities to achieve key STEAM competences (e.g.: innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, ICT competences, etc.). The project also aims to make better use of the equipment available to schools (3D printers, software, telescopes, etc.).
