Women in Science

Yesterday, we gathered at Tehnopark Celje for an event dedicated to exceptional women and girls in science on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. At Platform 360, we had the opportunity to listen to inspiring female scientists who shared their experiences, challenges, and insights into the future of science. Together, we built a more equitable scientific community for all. Although careers in women's science are still marked by stereotypes and prejudices, we have seen that there are strong voices persistently overcoming obstacles and paving the way for future generations.

We are grateful to all the participants who contributed to this unforgettable experience, and we extend a special thanks to our exceptional speakers:

Doc. dr. Katja Klinar

Dr. Ana Oberlintner

Dr. Tanja Goričanec

Prof. dr. Andreja Gomboc

Dr. Nataša Kovačić

And of course, to our colleague Dr. Maša Jazbec, who expertly moderated the roundtable discussion "Women in Science."

We heard various perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that women face in scientific professions. We discussed the cultural and societal influences and how we can all work together for greater gender equality in the scientific world. The event was attended by young girls and women who are forging their path in science, inspiring enthusiasm for STEAM fields among the next generations.

We were greeted by the husband of the President of Slovenia, Dr. Aleš Musar, who emphasized the importance of women's role in science and shared his personal experiences and belief in gender equality in scientific professions.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, and a special thank you to our inspiring speakers!
