WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN: Robots from another galaxy: Toy Hacking mission!
THURSDAY, 24. 4., AT 15. URI
Duration 120 min
BARBARA JAZBEC
"Discover, play and reuse! Transform old toys into crazy robots, funny hybrids or magical machines!"
"Imagine that your toy is a superhero who has lost his powers - how could you give them back to him?"
In this fun and creative workshop, we will explore what is hidden inside animatronic toys. Children will bring their old or used animatronic toys, carefully open them and discover hidden motors, sensors and sounds. Our task will be to learn how the toy works, and then we will create something completely new from all the found parts - crazy robots, hybrid machines or magical creations!
Workshop objectives:
Understanding how things work: Children will learn how motors, sensors and other mechanical parts in toys work.
Creative Recycling: Instead of adding new components, we will reuse everything we find in toys to create new inventions.
Sustainable Thinking: The workshop will emphasize the importance of reuse and creative recycling to reduce technological waste.
Hands-on Exploration: Children will explore and experiment with how different parts of toys work and how they can be combined into new creative inventions.
Stories and Group Work: Each child will create their own story about their new robotic hero and present it to the others.
Workshop Details:
Number of Participants: Up to 10 children
Duration: 2 hours
We Need: Old animatronic toys (preferably still working)
Workshop Procedure:
Introduction and Toy Stories: We get to know the toys, each one gets its own story.
Dismantling and Exploration: Children carefully open their toys and explore what they find inside (motors, sensors, sounds).
Understanding How It Works: Children will discover how motors, gears, sensors, and sounds work and use them to create new toys.
Hacking and Creating: They use only materials from toys to transform and connect parts in a fun way.
Presentation and Stories: Children present their new inventions and share the story of their robotic heroes.
Conclusion: A discussion about the importance of reusing toys and how this helps us protect the planet.
Important: We encourage you to bring old, forgotten, or unused animatronic toys. In the workshop, we will create with existing materials and will not add new parts to avoid technological waste.
Get ready to explore, create, and have fun! Robots from another galaxy are waiting for you!
