Conference ECSITE 2024
From June 5 to 8, 2024, the ECSITE 2024 conference will take place at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre, hosted by Zavod Kersnikova in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.
The ECSITE conference is the annual meeting of the ECSITE network (European Network of Science Centers and Museums) and represents one of the most significant gatherings of professionals in the fields of science communication, culture, and projects related to sustainable development, research, and technology. Participants of the ECSITE conference, coming from over 323 European and international institutions representing more than 50 countries across five continents, are predominantly directors and senior profiles of scientific research institutions and museums, managers, researchers, officials from European institutions, representatives of museums, science research centers, science and technology parks, international project coordinators, and representatives of private companies. During the three-day conference (including a pre-conference day), approximately 1,000 participants involved in science communication and public engagement in scientific research activities are expected to gather in Ljubljana. The program includes more than 80 thematic discussions, seminars, and workshops, in addition to the plenary sessions. The conference also features an exhibition section called "Business Bistro," with 65 international exhibitors, where business and economic connections are made and international partnerships are formed.

PRESENTATION AT THE CONFERENCE
Tehnopark Celje participated in the ECSITE conference in Ljubljana this year. At the Slovenian exhibition space, we showcased our activities and projects, including our robots. We also participated in discussion panels, where we shared our experiences and knowledge and collaborate with other experts in the fields of science and technology.
TEHNOPARK CELJE PART OF THE ECSITE NETWORK
In February 2023, we joined the European network Ecsite, the European Network of Science Centres & Museums, which has been operating as a European network of science centers and museums since 1990. Ecsite's vision is to promote creativity and critical thinking in European society and to encourage citizens to engage with science. Tehnopark Celje has been recognized as an important center within the Ecsite network, advancing the awareness of the importance of integrating science into society through its vision and mission. Therefore, representatives from Tehnopark Celje attended the Ecsite Conference 2023 in June, held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, Malta. At the new members' reception, they successfully presented the public institution Tehnopark Celje and its sustainable-oriented activities. The conference was attended by 850 participants from more than 250 organizations. They represented Slovenian interests together with the KONS organization (a platform for contemporary investigative art from Ljubljana), which is hosting the Ecsite conference in Ljubljana this year.
Our representatives received exceptionally positive feedback from the community last year and are excited to engage in joint sustainable strategies and visions of the Ecsite network. Sustainability guidelines were indeed the central theme of last year's Ecsite conference.
